Since I have both a laptop and a desktop, I felt it necessary to post the wallpaper from each one.

The Desktop

The characters in this wallpaper are characters some friends and I created several years ago. It has happy memories attached to it, like the one I have on my laptop below, but the reason for it being in use is simply because the one I had previously, as several of my friends know, made me sad, since one of the characters on it was killed off in the show it was from.


The Laptop

This picture was taken about a week before Halloween, when we went out in the yard to pick pumpkins. From left to right, my nephew and niece's, Linus, Stella and Piper. I chose it because its such a gorgeous picture of them, and it holds a happy memory mostly. In fact, I kicked off a wallpaper I was perfectly happy with to put this one up.

So, I went to Wachovia.com, to make a checking/savings account. It's time I had one, being an "adult" and all that good stuff, just never got one.

Anyway, filled out all the information, online, easy peasy right? you'd think.

Sent the info off, and waited for the e-mail telling me they got it and to call and answer any further questions they have, verify its me and all that....

They won't let me open a stinking bank account, to hold money that already belongs to me, because I don't have any "positive" credit to my name.

While this is true, frankly, I'm not asking for credit, I'm asking them to hold my money in a savings and checking accounts....and I know they have to have thier rules for checking people and so forth, but this had nothing to do with verifying who I was.

My mother, in her running of errands, had to stop at the bank, so while there she asked what was up with that. they started out by "suggesting" that I open a "little" credit card, like a Boscov's card or something, "we like our customers to havde more finacial stability"...there's brilliance there, A)I don't shop there much and B) I don't drive to go anywhere, whether I wanted to go to Boscov's or not.

After a bit more discussing things, they more or less said that if I went down, and had my mother sitting there with me, they'd let me have the account without the credit.

So, keeping that in mind, much love Wachovia, but you'll excuse me while I skip over to BoA and see what they tell me, before I do come bring my mommy with me to let you hold my money eh.

We've more or less adopted my brother's dog, cause they can't have pets where they live now.




The one cat is still hissing at her, since we've brought her into the house. Said cat also belongs to my brother, but we've also adopted her, again, cause of the no pets thing. It'll be interesting to see how long she keeps it up.

I don't so much mind the cat hissing at the dog, its something they've gotta work out with each other, but when the cat climbs on top of me and hisses at the dog every time she looks in my direction, then there's words.

Right now, the dog is sleeping at my feet, and the cat is sleeping at the other end of the couch. it'll be interesting to see if when the cat wakes up, if she hisses when she sees the dog... that'll be fun.

bloody_winged tagged me, and I meant to answer it, but it got lost in the sea of the COE aftermath tide. The fans are possessed.

A few posts back, I posted a pic of one of our cats, actually belongs to my brother, but they can't have cats where they live now. Anyway, I posted a pic of said cat laying on clean jeans laying on my bed, even though the rest of the bed was clear.....





I recently got an old computer bag, found it while I was cleaning up bookshelves, quite a nice one too.

I was checking all the pockets, and clearing out the stack of folders that had been left in it, letting it air out a bit, just to make sure it wasn't musty or anything.....

apparently airing it out sent out an invisible, magical invitation to the cat. I left the room to get dinner, came back less than an hour later, there was the cat curled up and sleeping away like it was her bed...I'm tempted to go find things that you usually don't want the cat to be curled up on, and see if she does it again, or if she knows I'm baiting her, it'd be fun to see if she did or not.

cause people wanted to see it and missed the blurry web cam photos. if it doesn't show, let me know, LJ is acting weird tonight...

I have a sign on the wall over my desk, it says "If you want the best seat in the house, MOVE THE CAT" sometimes I think it should be "If you want to find the cat, think of where you don't want them to lay"

this morning I was putting clothing away, and came across a pair of jeans that needed mended, so I tossed them to the bed to keep my self from hanging them without fixing them.....

Lunch time came, and I went and got myself food, and came back to eat and work on other things I needed to do. as I turned around to grab something in the direction of my bed, I saw one of the cats laying on my bed. this is nothing new. the cats know that when children are running cray in the house, my room is a safe place to hide. the part that makes me ponder the depth of the scheming ability of their brain comes from the fact that she was directly on the jeans.




smack dab in the middle of the jeans, that were clean, and neatly folded on the bed...does she like the smell of the fabric softener or something.


after I gave up trying to decide if cats are plotting the rule of the earth by driving their owners insane, I spent a large chuck of the afternoon trying to make myself dizzy with string. I'm still not exactly sure why I felt the need to redo my whole embroidery floss catalog...maybe OCD tendency's, though the legible type of the number labels is a very nice thing to have, when you stare at a number for several hours trying to make sure you have the right color for your pattern, it'll get that frustration gone once I get the whole log switched over.

Monkey Cake.

one "serving" is worth about 5 cups of coffee..., yet it leads to a far faster and heavier crash than said 5 cups of coffee.

side effects include teeth that feel like they each have a little fur coat.

your chest aches from all the butter in it.

an inability to close your eyes for more than 2 seconds.

those jitters you get after too much coffee, just that one serving.....



and despite all this, I'm tempted to go have more.

I think I'll try and go de-fur my teeth though, mint kills food appeal long enough to have it cool off and not seem as appetizing, Monkey Cake is best right out of the oven.

The Desktop Wallpaper



1. Its Jack and Ianto, how could I not?
2. This one is on my desktop rather than my laptop because it only comes in 1024x768, and my laptop is the next size up.
3. I'm very pumped for the release of the third season of Torchwood, very, very pumped.
4. in that being pumped, I've watched all the new pretty pictures from the magazines and such come out, and the three used in this wallpaper, once all three were out, I said to Nom, that now all I needed was for someone with better graphics skills than me to create a wallpaper useing the three image.
5. Ask and ye shall receive. The person who made this wallpaper even used my favorite of the three poses as the focal image of the whole thing, a happy accident that.

The Laptop Wallpaper




1. I repeat, it's Jack and Ianto.
2. I put this one on my laptop cause the one of the group I reallllly like looks all stretched out when I put it up on the laptop, and having images stretched out irritates me.
3. This one is actually a little brighter than I like.
4. Actually, number three is kind of a lie, its more like Gwen's section on the right throws the balance off, cause there's so much white around her, and Jack and Ianto are much closer to the camera in their sections.
5. Because although the balance is a bit off cause of Gwen's side, I like it, and I want to see how the team functions in the new season, given all that's happened up till now.

What can I say, I'm a Torchwood geek, proud of it, and I doubt my geekery's hyperactivity will calm down again till the new season airs. The new season doesn't air until the 20th of July....
